If you’re a Bangladeshi student planning to apply for a UK study visa for 2026, here’s a detailed breakdown of what you must know. Here are all the requirements, process, tips, and common mistakes that you have to be careful of.
Before that, let’s look at the basic eligibility criteria. They are:
- You must be 16 years or older to apply under the main “Student” route,
- You must have an offer letter from a licensed UK based university,
- A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number.
Documents & Evidence You’ll Need
- Valid passport
- CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies)
- Proof of funds (maintenance + tuition
- English language proficiency
- Tuberculosis (TB) test certificate
- Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) payment
- Passport-sized photos
- Academic transcripts/certificates
Financial / Maintenance Requirements
You’ll need to prove you can cover your tuition fees and living expenses while in the UK. For living costs (outside London) you will need around £1,136 per month and in London around £1,483 per month. The living expenses will be updated on November 10th, 2025. The funds must often be in your account for a minimum of 28 consecutive days and must not drop below the required level during that period. Bangladeshi banks provide student visa–fund statements. You must calculate while keeping in mind both tuition + maintenance + possibly travel/other costs.
Application Process & Timing
- First you need to accept your offer from the UK institution, pay any required deposit.
- Once that’s done, get your CAS issued by the institution.
- Then you need to prepare all your documents we have listed above.
- Apply for the visa online via the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) website.
- Book and attend your biometric appointment (fingerprints and photo) at the visa application centre in Bangladesh.
- Wait for decision. For many cases, decisions don’t take more than 3 weeks when applying from outside the UK.
- Upon approval, you’ll receive a visa vignette (sticker) in your passport (or equivalent) that allows you to travel.
English Language & Other Academic Requirements
Most courses require proof of English proficiency (e.g., IELTS, PTE). Your academic records must show that you meet the entry requirements for the UK course you’ve been offered. Postgraduate research/technical courses may require an academic approval certificate (e.g., ATAS) which you need to check with your institution. In that case, keep in mind that a research proposal is absolutely necessary.
Things you should be careful of:
- Insufficient funds
- Incorrect/missing documents
- Credibility of study intention (Immigration officers will check that you genuinely intend to study and leave the UK when your visa ends)
- Late application
- Choosing the wrong visa category
- Changes in policy
Things might feel a bit overwhelming but with proper preparation and a careful eye, you can make it. At Stallions, we ensure everything is right so that you can fly to the future of your dreams.
